Robert Conrad Ledoux

Fairfield, Connecticut

Robert Conrad Ledoux has been working on a body of work comprised of 750 existing and former lighthouses from Maine to Texas since the spring of 1998.

He visits each lighthouse site to photograph, sketch and paint the environment and details of each location. From these drawings he selects the best view for a detailed ink drawing.

Mr. Ledoux has supported himself through the sale of his artwork and at outdoor shows since 1991. He is an active member of the art community as a member of the Milford Art Association, Meriden Arts & Crafts, The Brownstone Group, the Connecticut Classic Arts Association, Rowayton Art Center, Old Greenwich Art Association, The International Mezzotint Society and the Fairfield County Arts Association.

As a young boy, he studied with painter Helen Green and was a member of the Onondaga Art Guild at the Syracuse Museum of Fine Art. He attended Silvermine Guild School of Art under a National Scholastics Art Scholarship, receiving a BFA in Painting with a minor in Graphics in 1960. His post-graduate work was done at Southern Connecticut State College, University of Bridgeport, University of Delaware and Notre Dame.
